FK-12 Comet Update - thanks to Air Chalon

I was very pleased to receive an update from Sylvain P at Air Chalon about the many FK-12 Comet aircraft that he has imported and built.

Sylvain bought the last five examples of the B&F FK-12 Comet to be produced  - he bought them from Avia Service at Krosno, Poland as kits - SN 114, 115, 116, 117 and the last example 118.

After assembly and test flying by Air Chalon three of the Comets now fly in France, one was delivered to the Reunion Islands and one to Germany

Comet #4 - re-built and going strong

Comet #4 was built from a factory supplied kit and had its first flight in June 1998 painted in a distinctive blue/yellow "USAAC" type colour scheme with the registration D-MOJE.

Over the years the aircraft has had a number of owners, including one who flew over 1,000 flight hours himself in D-MOJE. The aircraft has recently been re-built and now features a double canopy, strengthened undercarriage and a towing hook with a new white/blue colour scheme. D-MOJE is currently based in the Bavaria region of Germany and has flown over 1,950 flight hours in over 3,000 flights. Thanks to Hans P for this update.

Comet production at Avia Service - Krosno

Manufacturing of the FK-12 Comet recently moved to the Avia Service facility at Krosno Poland - two examples are in production as at November 2016, these are believed to be examples 113 and 114.

The aircraft will be sent to Bücker&Funk at Speyer, Germany for final completion before customer delivery. The following photos were supplied by B&F.
